And then the turkeys...
Way back in about maybe 1959 I was picked by my principal to be on the Alan Scott Show! It was a great thrill for me to be on TV.
Everyone was watching: parents, aunts, uncles, classmates, teachers. There were four of us on the panel with Mr. Scott and the formidable Mr.Rivets.
We had to continue a story which was started by one of the kids on the panel (a veteran). By the time it was my turn, I was in panic mode.
"And then the turkeys ran after him too!" I said, trembling!
Your dad just moved on to the next panel/child and the show continued.
Known as a formidable talker, I froze on my first TV attempt. Probably chosen by my principal because I talked a lot!
It is a fond memory.
I have often Googled, and YouTubed, looking to see if anyone kept my fond memory. To no avail. Glad I found your dad's obit to say a proper goodbye.
